Offset Axles:
An offset axle is required when ever you want to add larger rear wheels on your sled. The purpose of it is to move the mounting point of the wheel up and forward so the bottom of your new larger wheel will still line up with the hyfax on your sled, without the offset axle your wheels will run below the hyfax. All of our offset axles use 6205 (25mm) bearing, and they allow you to run up to 4 wheels across the back of your sled. It is really your choice on how many wheels you want to run (2,3,4).
Offset Re-Location Axles:
An offset re-location axle does the same function as a regular offset axle, the only difference is these are designed to only run wheels inside the rails (no outer wheels). For these you have a choice of running 2 or 3 inner wheels. All of our offset re-location axle require wheels with a 6205 (25mm) bearing. These also provide a cleaner look on your sled as the outer blocks are a nicely machined part.
Factory Size Re-Location Axles:
A factory sized re-location axle allows you to remove your outside wheels and only run 2 or 3 inner wheels. Your inner factory wheel spacers fit onto the axle, and you use your factory plastic wheels, unless you want to upgrade them to our billet wheels. All of our factory re-location axles require 6004 (20mm) bearings.
Re-Location 2 & 3 wheel options:
We are now offering our re-location axles with the option of running 2 or 3 inner wheels. Some people prefer the added safety of having the extra wheel in there, so that in the case you break a wheel, or a bearing fails you can still drive the machine.
Powder Coating options:
All of our axles will come in a bare aluminum machined finish, we can also powder coat the axles for a $25 additional charge. All wheel colors will be available on the axles. Select your color in the shopping cart during checkout.
Axle Support Plates:
We have designed a offset axle support plate that will prevent the offset axle from rotating and breaking your rails. This plate goes over the square blocks on our axle inside the rails, and will be bolted onto your rails. This support plate is intended for people that are running our axles backwards so they act like a mini rail extension, or if you are running high horsepower sleds. In these applications you are putting a lot more force on the axle. If you are installing our axles in the normal way with a factory sled you should not need this.
To install this piece you may have to drill a new hole in your rails and into the plate.
